Squadron Change of Command

March 13, 2019

At the end of a common meeting on the 12th of March, 2019, we observed a ceremony that usually only happens once every few years.  1Lt David Driscoll has been the Gallatin Squadron Commander for just shy two years.  The squadron was visited by the Montana Wing Commander Warren Vest, and Vice Commander LtCol Robert Schneller to perform the Change of Command ceremony.  This time honored ceremony illustrates that the squadron is never without command.  The outgoing commander, in this case 1Lt Driscoll, relinquishes command to the Wing Commander, who is responsible for the delegation of command to squadrons, accepts the squadron guidon, and assumes temporary command of the squadron.  The incoming squadron commnader, 1Lt Austin Troth accepts command from the Wing Commander, who passes the squadron guidon, and his delegation of command to the new commander.  Watch the video below for the change of command ceremony, and his first remarks as our new commander, 1Lt Troth.
